The 23 Foundation Ambassador for Africa (Mark Mead, also known as Delboy) had the great pleasure of meeting with Gary Van Rooyen (VP for Warrior South Africa). Mark pictured on the left said "We are extremely pleased and honoured to be working with Warrior who have kindly donated LFC shirts in aid of our charity" On behalf of us all here at the 23 Foundation we would like to thank Gary and Warrior for the help and support.

Picture above of Ronny Brunvoll and Betil Holen from Liverbirds Aalesund and Mike Lepic (23 Foundation in the middle). The 23 Foundation is very grateful for all the help and support from Norway in aid of our charity. Ronny and Bertil have been very instrumental in raising funds for the 23 Foundation. We wish Ronny (pictured left) all the best in his new job in Svalbard (Norway)...watch out for the polar bears, Ronny!

As tributes continue to flood in from supporters all over the world including fans of other clubs, Jamie would like send a message back: "Thank you all for your kind messages and words of support, it is greatly appreciated" said Jamie. Graham Agg from the German Reds Reds Official LFC Supporters Club, summarised it beautifully; "A player who I am proud to say was a Liverpool player, modest, professional, dedicated and someone who gave 100% in every match for LFC. With my deepest thanks for representing the club so proudly. Graham Agg, German Reds, branch secretary.

Sara Jayne McCarthy is Frazer's mum and today would have been Frazer's 22nd birthday. Sara has worked tirelessly to raise funds to help kids on Merseyside. Sara is a remarkable mum and a remarkable supporter and friend of our charity. Today we pay tribute to Sara and her family on Frazer's Birthday:
"Our 21yr old son was killed in a car crash last May which has torn our family apart and our lives will never be the same. We're hurting so much but take great comfort in all the love and support from family and friends including the 23 Foundation. As Frazer's mum I'm coping on a daily basis and it helps knowing that fundraising for Jamie's 23 Foundation Charity is in some way helping other young people, on Merseyside, achieve their goals and reach their full potential, through opportunities they may not have previously been given.Today is Frazer's first Birthday away from home and we've written him the following message -
Thinking of you on your Birthday Frazer
But that is nothing new.
For no day dawns and no day ends
Without a thought of you.
All that's left are memories
and photos in a frame
it still hurts so much to hear
the mention of your name.
Loved and missed beyond words.
All your loving family and friends xxxx"
YNWA,
Sara Jayne McCarthy

The 23 Foundation has been proudly working with M&S who have been amazingly supportive. With the aid of Sue Smith, Nicky Kellett, Lee Evans (pictured with Jamie) and other colleagues based at M&S in Bootle and Ellesmere Port (Cheshire Oaks), M&S have raised over £5,000 for our charity. Jamie Carragher said, "It has been a great pleasure working with M&S and I am delighted that with the hard work they have put in aid of the 23 Foundation" Jamie was born in Bootle and is extremely proud of what M&S have achieved both in his home town and Cheshire Oaks as well. Mike Lepic said, all the hard work M&S have put in will benefit a lot of kids and for that we are very grateful indeed.

The 23 Foundation is delighted to be working with Merton Villa who play in the Liverpool County Premier Youth League under 17’s. They joined this league after a very successful season last year in the Springfiled League where they won the Springfield Cup and the Under 16’s Liverpool County Cup.
This is our 9th season playing in various leagues including the Scotland Road League, the South Liverpool League and the Springfield League. Jamie Carragher played for Merton Villa himself as a child and has given us great support from the beginning, including donations for fund raising nights and supplied the team with kits throughout the years.
This latest donation has bought us a new kit and coats for the squad. All James’ support over the years has been well appreciated by all the boys, red and blue.
Regards Paul Buckley

The team have been together for the last two seasons and started off with a kit provided by Marine's sponsor at the time. The kit served the team well especially last season when the boys managed to win the treble in the Bootle JFL. So at the beginning of the new season we knew we would need a new kit and Marine were unable to provide one through there sponsor, so we needed to look for our own sponsors. Philly Carragher, who gave me the great news that the foundation would sponsor the team, was extremely helpful and I would like to thank him for all the help that he gave me, as it would have been very hard at the time to have found another such willing sponsor.
Lastly I would like to thank all the people at the 23 foundation who were really helpful and also Jamie himself because when the children received the kits red or blue the smiles on their faces were wider than the Mersey tunnel and they are proud that Jamie Carragher sponsors their kit. The foundation really does live up to its slogan 'giving local kids a chance'.
Thanks Steven, Marine Youth Under 9's.

The 23 Foundation and Bulford Juniors Football Club (from Merseyside) were invited to spend some time in Alesund Norway. This fantastic and hugely enjoyable/successful trip was organised by Sindre Johannessen (23 Foundation Ambassador for Norway). The Geiranger Fjord is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The first picture includes the Bulford Juniors players and their parents, and other friends and supporters of the 23 Foundation. The impressive Bulford team (second picture), includes some of the players with coach Philly Carragher) won all their matches on this tour (and in some cases played teams with older players!). The third picture is of the Bulford boys at the Alesund stadium (a very impressive stadium with an all weather pitch).
Once again we would like to thank the Johannessen family for their time and great effort in arranging the tour, Tore and Hanne Hansen (Norway Liverpool FC Supporters' Club), Ragnhild Lund Ansnes (Journalist/Writer), as well and her family. Tage and Kamilla Herstad and their kids; Tia (this is Anfield) and William Shankly, Torgeir Rusten from Geiranger, all the local helpers, football clubs and sponsors who made this possible for their continued help and support of the 23 Foundation. As a charity, we recognize the huge importance of all Liverpool FC supporters in Norway (and in Scandinavia) and are extremely grateful for their efforts in helping us to raise funds.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Sue Smith and her team and colleagues at M&S in Bootle. Sue's energy, drive and enthusiasm together with Nicky, Maureen and Kevin's time and effort are greatly appreciated.
Employees Nicky Kellett, Maureen Britocoll and Kevin Maguire, Section Co-ordinators - Your M&S Bootle Outlet (pictured above) are involved in a number of fund-raising initiatives including cycling to all the Premiership grounds and finally back to Anfield! This is an amazing project which will no doubt leave a few people saddle sore! The hard work and dedication displayed here are truly stunning and we are proud to be associated with all concerned.

Alistair, 15, of Oakfield Road, Birkby, travelled to Merseyside with his father Martyn, to watch Liverpool beat Birmingham 5-0. Afterwards they were given entry to the exclusive players' lounge at Anfield. The Bradford Grammar School pupil mingled with players before presenting a cheque for £1023 to midfielder Jamie Carragher. The money will go the Jamie Carragher 23Foundation, a charity set up by the footballer to help under-privileged children in Liverpool.
Alistair who plays football for Rastrick Juniors raised the money as part of his bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. He organised a five-a-side football competition and a race night for 50 guests.

Spirit & Dreams is a French Association created in the Memory of SergeSaint-Jean. The aim of the Association is to help the children in Liverpool to realise their dreams of going to Anfield. It also tries to help them in their everyday life. Serge Saint-Jean, was a man aged 43 who used to support both FC Girondins de Bordeaux and Liverpool FC. He travelled all over Europe following the teams that he loved. On his way to the Hillsborough Memorial Service, on 15th April 2010 Serge passed away, the victim of a heart attack. To create Spirit & Dreams was from my point of view, the best way to remember every second of his generosity and kindness.
The Liverpool FC v Wigan game (on the 12th February 2011) was the opportunity for some children to realise their dreams. Thanks to the generosity of the donators and an LFC player, 8 children were chosen. They were accompanied by 3 adults. On the Friday I went to Rimrose Hope Primary School, in Seaforth, Liverpool and met Aaron, Callum, Jack, Lucas, Chris, Connor, Mark, and Declan (pictures attached). These where the 8 LFC fans who were going to attempt their very first game at Anfield. We talked about Serge, and also about the children's favourite players.
On the Saturday we met at the Shankly Statue, and as you can see on the picture, they were very happy. It was my birthday, and the smile on their faces was a perfect gift. Despite the unlucky result (LFC 1-1 Wigan) the kids enjoyed the match and were singing for their heroes at Anfield. That beautiful moment wouldn't have happened without the help of The 23 Foundation, Mike and Gayner Lepic, Philly and James Carragher, and David N'gog (whom Spirit & Dreams Association support and thank).
In Memory of Serge, may Spirit & Dreams make a lot of children happy.

Keiko Hirano the Chair of the Liverpool Supporters Club in Japan is a great supporter of the 23 Foundation and Liverpool Football Club.
Along with other very keen Reds in Japan, Keiko has sent get well soon wishes to Jamie Carragher following his injury at Tottenham. Keiko is in the middle of the picture holding the letters C and A.
A party of supporters from Japan is travelling over to Merseyside for the Wolves and Bolton games. We look forward to welcoming them and seeing them watch the reds play at Anfield (unfortunately without Jamie in the side).

The contract extension which will keep Jamie Carragher at Anfield until the summer of 2013.
"It's hard to imagine doing anything else like playing, coaching, managing or scouting for another team," said the 33-year-old Bootle-born defender recently.
"I've been with Liverpool ever since I was a young boy so not being part of this club would be difficult. When I say life I mean it. I want to stay here. When I say that, it's not talk, I really mean it.".

On a good morning for running the Reds and Blues went head to head once again in Walton Hall Park and with just 26 more Reds attending on the day it was evenly balanced but the Reds got off to a blistering start with Mancunian Chris Collins moving straight into the lead. Chris held on to the lead all the way around the course and he was hunted down by fellow Red and local runner Marc Jaques who finished in second place. In third place was the first Blue, Danny Kevan.
There was a really good atmosphere on the day with plenty of fund raising going on for the Everton Foundation and Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation. The Army attended to lend their support to the Everton Foundation and did a roaring trade by feeding the spectators (and runners at the finish) with an amazing array of Army rations and a very nice steamed jam pudding and custard! A very big thank you to everyone who took part in the Big Heart 5K.

Liverpool FC supporters helping Fred McDonogh and Mike Lepic with a fund-raising event in Glenbeigh. Signed Jamie Carragher items were on display and everyone involved played their part to help raise money for the 23 Foundation.

The new official Jamie Carragher website has been launched and aims to provide fans with the latest Jamie Carragher news stories, an easy to use online store and information about the Jamie’s family orientated restaurants: Cafe Sports and Cafe Sports Express. However, Jamie Carragher’s true motivation behind his new website is not to sell himself, but to generate publicity for his charity the 23 Foundation. As a result all auction bids and every photograph sold in the gallery goes direct to the 23 Foundation. In addition there is a really quick and easy way to make donations direct to the 23 Foundation.
Please take some time to browse the official Jamie Carragher website and consider contributing towards the 23 Foundation and giving young people growing up in deprived areas of Liverpool an opportunity that they otherwise may not get, an opportunity to make something of their lives.

We are especially grateful for the recent donations that we have received from some famous names in football. Not only have we received donations from our home side but also there is international support for the efforts of the 23 Foundation.
Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier has very generously donated £1,500 to the 23 Foundation, the proceeds from one of his recent Football after dinner speeches.
Would you like to follow Gerards example by donating just £10.00? Doesn't sound a lot does it? but if everybody who visited the official Jamie Carragher website was prepared to donate just £10.00, then not only would we achieve our target, but everyone who donated would be part of the effort to improve the lives of young people in deprived areas of Merseyside. Please don't just think about it, donate today and make a real difference.

The 23 Foundation is very grateful to Real Madrid's midfielder Xabi Alonso who has donated 3 signed shirts to the 23 Foundation (7 David Villa, 8 Kaka and 9 Cristiano Ronaldo) which will be auctioned on this website very soon. Keep checking our auctions page for details.
Would you like to follow Xabi example by donating just £10.00? Doesn't sound a lot does it? but if everybody who visited the official Jamie Carragher website was prepared to donate just £10.00, then not only would we achieve our target, but everyone who donated would be part of the effort to improve the lives of young people in deprived areas of Merseyside. Please don't just think about it, donate today and make a real difference.

A great gesture from the Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard by way of a kind donation of £5,000 to the 23 Foundation to mark the launch of Jamie Carragher's official website.

Jamie Carragher through the 23 Foundation has contributed £8,000 towards the cost of a new 17 seater mini-bus for Brunswick Boys’ Club, known to the locals on Marsh Lane Bootle as 'the Brunny'.
Jamie Carragher, who grew up on Marsh Lane, Bootle, has developed a close relationship with the Brunny over the years and often pops in unannounced for a chat with the lads. In 2008, Jamie Carragher said the road was probably his second favourite place in the world, after Istanbul.
Jamie Carragher said: "It’s where it all started for me, the Brunny in Bootle. When I see that little road sign I get a real lift inside. There’s the boxing club, my junior school, the boys’ club. It’s very important to me."
Brunswick centre manager Keith Lloyd said: "The bus will make a valuable contribution to serving the local community and helping young people access opportunities."
Show your support to Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation by donating just £10.00 today. Together we'll change hardship into opportunity.
